‘Desperate’ Meghan Markle savaged over ‘humiliating’ move as UK return looms

Meghan Markle was savaged by fans online after her decision to return to the UK for the first time in four years. The Duchess of Sussex is planning on joining her husband, the Duke of Sussex, on his trip to his home country next month.
Prince Harry will attend the One Year To Go event for the Invictus Games in Birmingham in 2027 and other events linked to his patronages. The Sussexes are also rumoured to be bringing their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, after “assurances were given” regarding their security while in the country. It would be the first time that they travel to the UK as a family since the summer of 2022, when they all visited for the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

However, fans have taken aim at the duchess for returning to the country and the institution she spoke against.
The Sussexes have made a number of claims against the royals through a series of interviews, their Netflix show and Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir.
A user on X, with the handle @XOQueenEsther, who regularly comments on the Sussexes, mocked the Duchess for her “desperate” move and said that her return is the “most humiliating outcome of all”.
They said: “Desperate times call for desperate measures. Imagine s*******g on everyone on your way out and then trying to crawl back in because you’re broke, unsuccessful, unlikeable, shunned by the industry you were so desperate to impress, and and your brand has become synonymous with grievance and toxicity.
“This has to be the most humiliating outcome of all. After years of emphasising separation and privacy, this turn to emotional manipulation through family legacy and the innocence of their children exposes not resilience, but the unmistakable reality of two people who have exhausted their options and are now reduced to grasping at whatever remains of their former position. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle really are desperate.”
Another user agreed, saying: “They have Catastrophically Failed.”

A third one commented: “As Samuel L Jackson said: ‘Be careful of the toes you step on today, because they might be connected to the a** you have to kiss tomorrow’.”
A fourth one commented: “She thought she was going to be the most famous person in the world. She thought wrong.”
Another one opined: “Royal connection or not, I don’t think it would change Harry and Meghan Markle’s image. Also it’s not going 2 suddenly make them successful & super rich just bcos they return 2 d UK. People still don’t care.”
Harry has faced a protracted legal battle with the Home Office over the security arrangements for him and his family when in the UK after his level of protection changed when he stepped down as a working royal in 2020.
Security worries for his family have been cited by the duke as a reason he could not bring them to the UK but it appears his concerns have been mitigated, with reports claiming the Sussexes were given assurances.
But sources have stressed all matters of security are issues for the Home Office to decide and the King does not play a role in the process and has not made any private undertakings.
