Achtung! As Andy Burnham sashayed into Berlin for his first face-to-face meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the official line was about a joint security partnership to target cyberattacks, foreign sabotage, and hybrid threats from Russia. But read between the lines and the reality is more sinister as Labour looks to do the dirty on 17.4m people and ultimately overturn the Brexit vote. Burnham himself has said the UK needs to “consider the options”, which range from the status quo, rejoining the customs union or single market, or going “all the way” in becoming EU members once again.
To be honest, the bare-faced betrayal should surprise no one. Ever since it won the General Election in 2024, Labour has been egged on by Europeanists like former Belgian PM and EU Brexit coordinator Guy Verhofstadt, who labelled Brexit voters “extremists”. A decade on and he continues to push for full-on renewal of EU membership, telling remainers the bloc is “waiting for you”.
And he’s not alone. The Panzer movement to cajole Britain into running back into the arms of Brussels saw French finance minister Roland Lescure call for us to “come all the way back”.
He said: “The British people decided, and that’s obviously their 100% right, and if they’re willing to come back, they will have to decide. But what I can tell them is: come back, anytime.” “Come back, and you’ll be at the table, and we discuss all these things together.”
The flashing of EU thighs has bedazzled Burnham, but we all know where this ends up: with Britain shackled to a European Federation – a single, sovereign superstate, similar to the United States. It wants to replace the absolute sovereignty of individual nation-states with a shared federal government, unifying critical functions like defence, foreign policy, and economic management.
For people like Verhofstadt and Lescure, Brexit was the greatest affront imaginable. One-eyed Europhiles are using Russian aggression, economic competition from authoritarian powers, climate breakdown and rapid technological transformation as a case for stronger European cooperation.

They argue that Britain’s natural place is in the EU Union, with its interests, values, security and prosperity are fundamentally European.
Disturbingly, the pressure is mounting.
Verhofstadt is on record as saying: “A generation of young Britons see no contradiction between being proudly British and proudly European. They understand that their future security and opportunities are bound up with the continent to which they belong.
“The responsibility now falls to them. The generation that lost its European citizenship without being asked should not resign itself to a permanent loss. Political decisions can be reversed, and the next chapter of Britain’s European story has yet to be written. Young Britons should have the ambition to write it.”
This will be music to Burnham’s ears and the prospect of the UK being shackled to the bloc once more is a very real prospect under the socialist cabal he leads because they have never been willing to embrace independence, let alone accept it.

Andy Burnham is accused of inciting disorder after a record 781 migrants crossed the Channel in one day, while Reform UK warns numbers are accelerating.

Andy Burnham has been accused of inciting disorder across the country because of the way his Government is handling the migration crisis.
It comes after his administration suffered its worst day on record, with 781 illegal migrants breaking into the country in unlawful Channel crossings in a single day.
The record-breaking influx also saw two boats arrive on UK shores undetected, sparking fury in Westminster and triggering threats of protests at migrant sites.
Horrendous footage and pictures, seen in Thursday’s Daily Express, also show what appears to be a man abandoning a child in the water so he can climb aboard a crowded dinghy.
Reform UK’s Shadow Home Secretary Zia Yusuf warned that numbers were “accelerating” despite Home Office claims that the overall total had reduced.
He told Good Morning Britain that the UK has had “north of 210,000 people turn up on our beaches illegally in the past eight years” and warned “people’s lives are being turned upside down”.
Those comments were in relation to the village of Piddington, which recently hosted a symbolic referendum to leave the UK in protest against the housing of migrants at a nearby base.
Mr Yusuf said residents “are terrified that they are about to be outnumbered 10 to 1 by illegal migrant men”.
Home Office data shows a decline in the number of crossings this year, but critics say the overall figure remains far too high, with an insufficient number of people being sent back to their countries of origin.

In a scathing attack on the Prime Minister, Mr Yusuf said: “Andy Burnham is inciting disorder in Britain by wielding the state’s monopoly on violence to impose unvetted men from countries like Afghanistan, Syria and Eritrea into local communities.”
He added: “This is unprecedented. I am worried the country is heading to a dark place.”
His remarks refer to footage showing coaches used to transfer migrants from the coast to immigration centres being accompanied by a police escort.
There have been mounting protests by masked men near locations used to hold migrants, though police support for security reasons is not uncommon.
