It’s a special day for the Royal Family today as Queen Camilla celebrates her 79th birthday. Her Majesty, who has been seen out and about this week, will no doubt be surrounded by her nearest and dearest today as she marks her special day.
Over the last few years, Camilla has stepped up for the royals more than ever before, especially after her husband King Charles’ cancer diagnosis. This has seen her popularity sky-rocket, with many now in admiration of her work ethic. To celebrate her birthday today, here are 11 of Queen Camilla’s best moments…
Queen Camilla married into the Royal Family in 2005
Queen Camilla may have been in King Charles’ life for a long time, but she only officially married into the Royal Family in 2005. The pair exchanged vows in a civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall on April 9, 2005. At the time, Charles was The Prince of Wales. Camilla then became the Duchess of Cornwall. They kept these titles until they became King and Queen in 2022 after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Queen Camilla and King Charles have always been in love
While King Charles and Queen Camilla were married to other people before they officially began dating in the public eye, it is believed that they had an affair. This is because before their first marriages, the pair had already met and liked one another, with this not lasting at the time. They then rekindled their romantic connection when their first marriages were struggling to stay afloat.

Queen Camilla has a strong love of dogs
Her Majesty still has her own private home
While Queen Camilla has access to a range of royal homes she can stay in, she still has her own private home where she goes for time alone on the weekends. Her home, Ray Mill House in Wiltshire, is where Her Majesty can reportedly enjoy time with her family away from the pressures that come with being a royal.
