Donald Trump orders diplomats to compile dossier of migrant crimes in UK in fresh blow

The White House has ordered American diplomats to compile dossiers of crimes committed by migrants in the UK.Donald Trump’s administration believes British voters have been “let down” by a record number of arrivals and an illegal migration crisis. Mr Trump has singled out the UK in particular, amid fears over grooming gangs.

Embassies across Europe, as well as Australia, New Zealand and Canada have been told to review “human rights abuses” by migrants in their host countries.

And, in a huge blow to Labour, a senior US State Department official said British people had voted for “reform” of mass migration but had been repeatedly “let down” by their politicians.

“The British government in particular, time and time again we’ve seen governments — whether it be Conservative governments, Labour governments — say that they’re going to take action to solve the mass migration crisis,” the official said.

“And time and time again, despite the people continuously voting for a resolution or at least some sort of relief from the pressures of mass migration, nothing has really happened.”

The official continued: “If you look at Europe … there are concerning increases that we’re seeing in sexual assaults and violent sexual aggravated attacks, particularly on women and young girls, by people of a migration background, particularly people of extremist Islamic background as well.

“Everything from violent rape gangs and organised rape gangs in the United Kingdom to targeting of young girls in other countries. We also see instances of human trafficking, antisemitic and anti-Christian attacks, largely by people of radical Islamic backgrounds.”

The UK has been rocked by a series of high profile crimes allegedly committed by migrants, including the stabbing of Wayne Broadhurst.

Afghan Safi Dawood, 22, was charged with murdering Mr Broadhurst, 49, the attempted murder of his landlord and a 14-year-old boy, on 27 October.

Some 1,731 foreign sex offenders are behind bars in the UK, which is up 9.9% in a year. A quarter – 457 – come from just five countries 0Romania, Pakistan, Poland, Ireland and India.

In the same period, the increase in the number of Britons in jail for the same type of offences was 3.8 per cent.

In total, there are 10,000 foreign national offenders locked up in UK prisons, including 6,600 convicted criminals.

The White House’s intervention comes after Mr Trump urged Sir Keir Starmer to deploy the military to stop Channel migrant crossings.

The US President deployed troops to America’s border with Mexico.

He said: “I think your situation is very similar. You have people coming in and I told the prime minister I would stop it, and it doesn’t matter if you call out the military, it doesn’t matter what means you use. It destroys countries from within and we’re actually now removing a lot of the people that came into our country.”
