Their nine bedroom refuge is pure Hollywood shine, but the cold shoulder in their own neighborhood is getting harder to hide.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are branded as “snobs” by their neighbours in the United States, it has been claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reside in a luxurious nine-bedroom estate in celebrity hotspot and Californian community Montecito – but it seems the glamour stops there, as their reputations at home are allegedly in tatters.

Speaking exclusively on the Daily Expresso podcast with host JJ Anisiobi, NewsNation star Paula Froelich spilled all on how the Sussexes are viewed unfavourably by the stars in their local community. She said: “There’s plenty of things for them to do to devote their life to service. But what are the reasons their neighbours can’t stand them? Because they don’t do anything for the community.”

When asked by JJ why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are viewed so dishonourably in their neighbourhood, Ms Froelich said the couple tend to befriend people based on their status.

Ms Froelich said: “[They’re] constantly looking over [their] shoulder to find the bigger, better deal. They will take people who they think can get them somewhere. And they also step on toes that way too. So frankly, they’re just snobs.”

Earlier in the episode, the NewsNation presenter also discussed Meghan Markle’s wedding, which was attended by a handful of A-list celebrities including Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney. But Ms Froelich revealed that the Duchess had “never met [them] in person”.

She added: “The biggest issue with Meghan is everything is a role to her. She’s constantly auditioning for the role that she’s always wanted – Meghan is desperately trying to be the A list.”

The Sussexes bought their lavish mansion in the restricted neighbourhood of Montecito in June 2020, five months after stepping down as senior royals and leaving the United Kingdom.
