Meghan Markle accused of ‘pre-emptive branding’ amid Duchess title removal threat

Meghan Markle faces allegations of exploiting her Royal title to establish it as integral to her personal brand ahead of its potential removal, a move Prince William is reportedly considering implementing against both her and Prince Harry upon ascending to the throne.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, alongside her spouse Harry, 41, departed their Royal duties for life across the Atlantic in 2020, subsequently facing intense examination regarding their actions ever since.

Additional scrutiny has surfaced concerning whether Markle has been deploying her titles with greater frequency in recent weeks.

Markle appeared to utilise her title in a puzzling fashion during a recent Harper’s Bazaar interview, where reports indicated her title was proclaimed repeatedly, reports the Express US.

Experts now believe she is engaging in this practice as a strategy of “pre-emptive branding.”

The latest blunder unfolded when a house manager introduced her as “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex” to the reporter upon their entrance to a New York residence for her interview.

Reports emerged that she similarly had her title announced as she turned up to engage with a group of youngsters at the La Brea tar pits in Los Angeles. The Royalist publication has suggested that Meghan Markle’s frequent use of her title and Sussex surname is a strategic move to engrave it into the public consciousness and solidify it as part of her identity, irrespective of whether it might be stripped from her.

This fear stems from the recent stripping of all titles from Prince Andrew in the wake of his controversial friendship with the late disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Despite stepping down and being relieved of his duties by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, Andrew’s Prince and Royal Highness titles were subsequently removed by his brother, King Charles, leaving him known solely as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

There are looming threats suggesting that when Prince William ascends the throne, he may follow suit and strip his brother and sister-in-law of their titles due to their status as non-working royals.

It’s alleged that he intends to achieve this by issuing a Royal executive order to overturn the current laws that prevent someone from being stripped of their Prince/Princess titles – with his main targets being his brother, Prince Harry, nephew, Prince Archie, niece, Princess Lilibet, and cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Furthermore, it’s claimed that he plans to revoke the Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles from Harry and Meghan as well.

His own children, specifically Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte, would also have their titles “parked” until they reach an age where they can decide if they wish to serve as working royals or not.

Prince George is not expected to be affected as he is next in line for the throne after William.
