Activist Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu has been slammed for comparing Israel to the Nazis on the day Donald Trump announced that the first stage of a peace deal between the Jewish state and Hamas had been agreed. She wrote on X: “I have every confidence Israel will break this ‘ceasefire deal’ and once it gets the hostages carry on with genocide of Palestinians and its Nazi Expansionist Greater Israel plan. It’s still killing Palestinians right now despite announcement.”
Gary Mond, Chairman of the National Jewish Assembly, called the outburst “vile”. He also told the Express: “The basis of this quote is nonsensical. There is, of course, no genocide going on in Gaza whatsoever. There has been for the past two years a war taking place there which is entirely the fault of Hamas and the other Gazan terrorist groups who murdered, raped and mutilated some 1,250 people in Israel on 7 October 2023 and kidnapped 250 more. Every single casualty among the Gazan population is therefore the responsibility of Hamas and its fellow Gazan terrorist groups.”
He added: “At any time in the past two years, had Hamas released the hostages and surrendered, the war and killing would have stopped.”
Mr Mond also issued a warning.
He said: “Regarding the present situation, the real concern is that Hamas will not surrender all its weapons, and simply merge itself into another group in order to continue its murderous struggle with Israel.”
@robspitzy replied: “Oh Dr Shoa the Jew hater. You’re proving every day you don’t care about Palestinians. This is your last ditch attempt to stay relevant because soon you’ll just be remembered as that racist woman who spread Nazi rhetoric during a war that didn’t involve her.” @dude_gnarley wrote: “Why, the last ceasefire was broken by Hamas. Do you think they take it in turns?” @James20972 said: “If Hamas break this ceasefire deal. Would you condemn them?”
Mr Trump said on Truth Social: “ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon.
“Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line.”
It comes after an attack on a synagogue in Manchester left two British Jews dead.
The suspected perpatrator, Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, made a 999 call, in which he pledged allegiance to Islamic State, it has been reported.
Antisemitism has “exploded like a volcano” in the UK, a top Israeli diplomat warned Keir Starmer on our podcast the Daily Expresso on Tuesday.
Alex Gandler, official spokesperson of the Israeli embassy in the UK, said: “The anti-Semitism that has been boiling here for the past few years has exploded like a volcano of stabbing and bullets and blood.
I’m very sorry for what is happening here.”
He added that incitement is happening in Britain, especially through pro-Palestine marches.
“It sounds to us quite peaceful,” Mr Gandler said.
“People are marching for an idea. It’s nice, and it sounds as if there’s something grander than just an individual, those marches.
“But they’ve turned into something else. They’ve definitely turned into something that is detrimental to their cause.”
Hamas killed some 1,200 people and took around 250 captive two years ago.
It was the bloodiest in Israel’s history, and the deadliest for Jews anywhere since the Holocaust.
